Longing and Reflecting

I've been at Mom and Dad's since Christmas Eve and will hopefully be home in the next couple of days. We'll see because it is unbelievably snowy here and I'm a little nervous to drive on these icy roads.

The snow makes everything in the country look pretty, it's true. But just today I found myself saying, "I'm already impatiently counting down the days till spring. . . "

I'm not a winter girl. I'm just not. I WANT to enjoy it, I REALLY do. I even made an effort to take a little country winter walk yesterday, which was beautiful. The best part to me, though, was getting back inside to get all warm again!

Warmer climates are constantly calling my name. I found this picture below and it reminded me so much of looking back on and longing for those sunny, humid days of June, July, and August.

On a positive note, I think that one of the sweetest things about winter is that it gives us such a perfect opportunity to simply REFLECT. Journal writing has been such a wonderful outlet lately. My next challenge to myself is to brave the cold more often and to take pictures of delightful things that I enjoy about this chilly season.

Wish me luck! ;)

P.S. Time for New Year's resolutions soon. Have you made any yet?

to you and yours!

I'll be out of town for a few days and will miss my blog and blogger friends since I'll have very little access to the internet. I hope you all treasure these few days with family and/or friends! It's such a special time. ♥

Blue, Green, and In Between

Can you even believe Christmas is this Friday? It's still soaking in to me.
Last minute shopping is a must on my To-do list today. Wish me luck with the
I-wait-till-it's-nearly-too-late masses! Procrastinators are us!

Wanted to share a little shop update before I'm out the door.
There are some pretty shades of blue and green and a little in between in the shop right now. The first two are my favorites. ;)

Just wanted to share with the rest of the world what my perfect New Year's Eve dress would look like. Recently found this amazing beauty on Etsy.

I always like silver and blue for New Year's Eve and this dress represents the combination of those two colors so perfectly.

The glittery trim reminds me of ice on pine trees.
And just look at that full skirt with a tulle overlay!

I'm not doing anything fancy enough for New Year's Eve that would require such a
divine dress, but in case you might be, you can find this dress from seller gimmeNICOLE.

Such GORGEOUS pictures too!

MY TURN, Christmas Wish List

I've been checking out all of my blogger friends' Christmas wish lists lately and FINALLY today decided to take a few moments out of my crazy moments-before-the-chaos-of-holidays-sets-in Friday to share some goodies I'd love for Santa to put under my tree this year.

♥ HAPPY HOLIDAYS to ALL of YOU! I hope you have a safe, cozy, and sweet time with your family and friends. ♥

1. My dream handbag, have ALWAYS wanted one exactly like this!
Authentic Vintage Chanel Quilted purse

2. Absolutely LOVE these 3D Shark socks, aren't they adorable?

3. A year supply of chocolate cacao nibs from SweetRiot would make me happy every single day. mmm!!

4. Ever since this dress has been listed I've been imagining myself in it.
Everything about it is perfect to me. :)

5. These tattoo stockings on Etsy are SO COOL.

6. This Vintage Cherry Blossom GIVENCHY Sweater wants so much to be a part of my wardrobe, I just know it!

7. MOON BOOTS, oh yes, I think they're so rad! If these were my size, they'd
probably already be mine!

What is the ONE THING that you REALLY WANT this year? If you don't get it, will you buy it for yourself?

New Year's SPARKLING Eve

Here are a few pretty and beautifully illuminated items from the shop that would look fantastic on New Year's Eve. What are your plans?

My beau and I aren't sure yet what we're going to do. As far as clothes go though, I almost always choose silver in some form or another for NYE.

If you don't have anything yet to wear, why not sparkle up the party with one of these beauties?

Glitter Swirl Dress

Saks Fifth Avenue Sequin Dress

Shiny Silver Wedge Heels

Draped 80's Dress

Asymmetrical Liquid Gold Dress

Decorative Rhinestone trim Cream Cloche Hat

Sequined Silver Knit Dress

Glass Beaded Disco Belt

I love New Year's Eve so much, it's just such an exciting holiday! I always
get sad when I hear Auld Lang Syne, though. You too? It's this sense that you're leaving some parts of yourself behind to become this newer self.
Change is good though, yes? ;)

Wednesday Wishlist, The PLAID WOOL Dress

I love plaid for fall and especially for winter. Not many dresses keep you warm enough in the winter, and a stylishly cut and flatteringly fitted WOOL plaid dress is, if you ask me, the PERFECT choice for a cold day when you want to look pretty. {With the right tights and shoes, of course!} When you're seeking for one online, make sure you check to see if it's lined or not, that way you don't have to fuss with slips.

These are my favorite Vintage PLAID WOOL DRESSES and I found them on . . . you know where, my favorite. ETSY.
Aren't they charming? Have you bought yourself a Christmas present yet? ;)

Which one is YOUR FAVORITE?

Vintage Christmas Dress Possibilities

You know how I'm always sifting through the virtual shopping racks? Look what I stumbled upon from Etsy! I know these are not your traditional velvet or satin holiday dresses in solid red or green, but they're so unique I couldn't help but to share them! The first two remind me so much of Christmas gift wrap, I can't believe it. Wearing either one of them would be like being the gift itself! Don't you think? I just KNOW I've bought gift wrap that looked like this before. You know what I'm talking about, the pretty shiny plaid kind.

And how FUN is the dress below? You know how I love novelty prints! It reminded me of this awesome girl I found out about online named Wendy Brandes who has some seriously awesome novelty print dresses and is never afraid to take risks with fashion. This map dress and this lego dress are two of my faves from her blog.

Thought this dress was so perfect for Christmas. I love the wrap bodice and holly on the skirt! I think it's from the 30's or 40's too. Purrrdy!

Thoughts? What will YOU be most excited to wear for the holidays?

Novelty Print of the Day -- Gibson Girl & Beau watching the Ocean Dress

Oh how I love romantic prints like these! A woman and her beau are watching the waves a the ocean in this dress, and the sweetest part is that they are holding hands. Just DARLING! ♥
It's made for the summer, as it is a halter sun dress, and would be so perfect to wear at the beach.
