Finding the PERFECT VALENTINE'S DAY DRESS, Day 1

The COUNTDOWN is on, which means the SEARCH is on. . .
for the PERFECT Valentine's Day dress.

I can't help it! I'm looking so forward to Valentine's day it's ridiculous! It's likely my favorite holiday, next to Christmas, and I don't think it's too early to prepare. After all, it's only about a month away. I've been "window" shopping online to get an idea of what I want to wear this year, and these 5 dresses grabbed ahold of my heart instantly! The first dress is a dream, and everything about it is perfect to me.
I'm not sure what my beau has planned just yet, but I need to find out so I can make sure I have the perfect outfit for that special day. ♥

Do you make your own valentines? That's one of my very favorite things about
the holiday aside from getting massive amounts of chocolate,
and dressing up all pretty too, of course. :)

Fall in love with a dress . . .

strapless. frothy. tulle. mini.

Stay tuned, I'm going to try to share a few of my favorites every day until the week
before Valentine's day.
Isn't it crazy and WONDERFUL that there are so many gorgeous vintage dresses in the world?
It's one of my life's thrills.
:)

Hope you find one you love!

WINTERESTING

For those of you who are like me and have a very hard time getting through the winter. . .

remember loving it as a child? I keep asking myself, what happened, why have my feelings changed so much?

I'm trying with all of my might not to let the cold and ice and snow and
dry skin and coughs and runny nose and scary, slippery roads get me down. *sigh*

But most of the time all I ever want to do in the winter is,

SLEEP

DRINK TEA, READ. . . and

EAT SWEETS.

Help! I want to find winter interesting again!!

These photos and quotes brightened my day
and inspired me to do just that.
Hope you enjoy.♥

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there within me lay an invincible summer."
~ Albert Camus

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome."
~ Anne Bradstreet

"The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination."
~ Ward Elliot Hour

Doesn't this remind you of the landscape of Dr. Suess's Whoville?

Valentine's day is coming up too, which is exciting.

Let me know if you have any TIPS on how you deal with these winter time days.
I would greatly appreciate it. :)

XOXO

Newbies

A new year calls for new listings in the shop, but of course! ;)
How's your 2010 so far? Truth be told, my relationship with the month of January needs some work, but I'm so far sticking to my resolutions. All 2789790 of them. :D Just kidding. There ARE too many to list, but I think the 5 most important ones are:

1. Making ME time a necessary daily ritual. Reading & writing mainly, and NOT on the computer.
2. Eating healthier by cooking in instead of eating out
3. Calling my best friends more often
4. Not worrying
5. and working out at LEAST 20 minutes a day.

By all means, give me some more while I'm feeling motivated now!

TOP 3 New Year's resolutions for the shop include:

1. Incorporating bigger sizes!
2. Keeping color in control. :)
3. Consistent listing, EVERY WEEK. (hopefully) Keep bugging me, guys! ♥

and. . .if you have any advice on how January and I can start getting along better, send it my way. xo

I don't give a damn 'bout my Bad Reputation!

I'm getting pretty excited for the opening of The Runaways this spring. How about you? Is it safe to say that we all have a little dash of badass in our personalities?

I've been a fan of Joan Jett since I was a kid, and I've always found her style pretty rad!

These high waist 80's Jordache black ACID WASH jeans are currently in the shop right now and remind me so much of the glam rock goddess! If you look closely, she's wearing a very similar pair of jeans in the bad reputation video below. I love it!

I can't even imagine how awesome it must have been to be in an all girl
rock band in the late 70's! Joan Jett is easy to spot, but
do you recognize Lita Ford?

There's those jeans again!

Awesome platforms, ladies!

Joan's version of CH..CH..CH..CH..CH..CH..CH..CHERRY BOMB!

Official RUNAWAYS Trailer, Coming out MARCH 2010!
Starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

It'll be interesting to see how this movie affects the fashion world! I'm seeing lots of black leather and bright, tight metallics in the forecast, what do you think?

I might just have to take those jeans or this outfit out of the shop for opening night! Fits the occasion!

I'd Wear Gray Like This

I'm not going to let the gray of these winter days bring me down, I think I'll choose to be inspired by it, instead. :) I don't usually wear gray much at all, but I've been noticing a trend popping up in my Etsy favorites. AMAZING gray pieces. These four I'm pretty much crazy about right now, especially that last LILLI ANN new look suit. My goodness, I nearly fainted when I first saw that one!

This 1940's Wiggle dress is the perfect shape, and that big bow is irresistible!

This darling set is WOOL for warmth in Winter.

I love the checkered plaid on this sailor style Jonathan Logan set!

Lilli Ann Perfection! Every single detail, down to the Rhinestone trim!
Even that little flared peplum on the jacket makes me weak in the knees!

VELVET Tales

Velvet is very popular in the shop right now, so it seems. Just added those first boots yesterday. I think they're AWESOME! They're Italian-made and fit like a second skin. I love velvet for winter. The season of cold begs for this lush warm fabric, and all of these dark, colorful pieces would look gorgeous against the dull gray that is so prevalent outside this month.
