Novelty Print of the Day -- vintage 70's Kisses & Hearts Red Mini Dress

I miss my novelty print posts, I haven't done one in ages! But as soon as I came across this ridiculously cute dress, I knew I had to share it with all of you. How sweet would this be for Valentine's day, girls? Besides the all out amorous kisses-and-hearts print, the balloon sleeves and flirty mini length are sweeter than sugar!

Novelty Print of the Day -- 1950's PIECES OF MAIL Day Dress

I've never seen a print like this! I'm in love with this fun dress.
Wish I could wear this on my trip to the post office this morning.
Let's never make snail mail a thing of the past. Isn't it a great feeling
to find something special addressed to you (that's not a bill) in your mailbox? A dress as a tribute to old-fashioned correspondence; I'm betting we don't see one like this for awhile!

Noveltly Print of the Day -- Vintage 40's LADIES OF FASHION Black Rayon Dress

If you're used to my novelty-print-of-the-day posts then you know how much I love any kind of lady prints.  The hoop skirt detail is fantastic on this dress! Also, I love how the black background of the dress makes a perfect contrast with those bright colors of white and yellow. Such a gorgeous silhouette on this 1940's beauty, as well.  The 40's must have been such a spectacular time to get dressed up!

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage 1950's TRAIN STATION Cotton Full Skirt

This is the BEST! I took my very first train ride when I was 18. Fresh out of high school, it was the beginning of a beautiful introduction to independence and adulthood and I was on my way to visit a friend in Chicago. Initially I was TERRIFIED. But that train ride ended up being amazing, and I met some strangers that I had had really eye-opening conversations with. Since then, I've only been back on a train a handful of times. I'd love to be wearing this skirt for my next trip though! :) I never tire of seeking out these wonderful prints!

Novelty Print of the Day -- 1970's BAMBOO Maxi Halter Dress

This dress is not fit for the season of fall that I'm getting ready for, but perhaps if you life in a warmer climate you could make it yours! I absolutely love the bamboo print, and the halter style and maxi length create such a pretty silhouette too.

Novelty Print of the Day -- 60's Vintage ERTE-INSPIRED Mini Dress

Quite a marvelous print on this vintage 1960's mini dress! The illustrations are obviously Erte-inspired, maybe even reproductions of some of his drawings. And being a fan of Erte's creations, I had to post this unique frock for the novelty print of the day!

Novelty Print of the Day -- 1960's KITTY CAT Mini Dress

It's been too long since I've done a novelty print post! Honestly, I've been working like a dog at my *real* job, and so my relationship to time has been quite different lately. Any of it that I can squeeze in to myself is quite a blessing these days. Just came upon this kitty cat print dress today. Quite adorable, with all of those signature sixties details: pointy collar, puffy sleeves, ultra mini length. CUTE as a button, er. . . a kitten! Meow!

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage 70's FALLING LEAVES Maxi Dress

What a perfect dress for this time of year! The leaves are changing color and falling right outside of my window as I type this. The evenings are becoming darker earlier here in the mitten as well. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed as of late about the many things going on in my life right now. Busy, busy, busy. . . but happy to come upon this dress to feature in the blog today. Which reminds me, I have a handful of things yet to list in my own shop this week, so expect an update hopefully soon! (tackling that to-do list one minute, one BREATH at a time) :)

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage 60's BICYCLE & UNICYCLE Romper

Way too cute, right?! Oh my goodness, how giddy I felt when I came upon this little romper while searching for a novelty print to feature today.
I kinda wish I could buy this for Erin of Calivintage. Whenever I see bike stuff now, I often think of her and her cyclin' adventures...

Novelty Print of the Day -- Amazing 1970's LANVIN Charlie Chaplin & Buster Keaton Dress

Oh, Lanvin! This is fantastic! Being a comedy lover myself, I immediately fell head over heels for this dress featuring the caricatures of the comic greats Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. This shirtwaist jersey frock is just one more reason of millions to appreciate vintage clothing! One more amazing one-of-a-kind finds in the world of online shopping. One more dress I'll be swooning over in my ridiculously long list of "dresses I'm in love with".

And of course I have to leave you with one of my favorite quotes!

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage 70's RARE WOODSTOCK CROWD Pants

Wow! The Woodstock crowd photographed and then put on a pair of pants? Super cool! And still NWT from the 1970's? Yes, definitely RARE. Just wait till you see the price tag on these! Can you imagine how fun it would be if someone recognized him or herself in this photo, though? ;)

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage PAULINE TRIGERE Women & Trees Silk Dress

I can't believe the beauty that is this vintage Pauline Trigere dress. Besides the fact that it is made out of silk chiffon, the print is incredible. I love the fluidity of the women figures, they look like mythical goddesses, and they seem almost entranced by being in nature and surrounded by trees. The large tree that takes up nearly the entirety of the skirt of the dress is stunning! I'm in love with this.

Novelty Print of the Day -- 60's Vintage GIBSON GIRLS & BIKES Print Mini Dress

Oh my, how I love this print! If the dress were my size, there's no way I'd be featuring it, because I would definitely be bidding on it myself. ;)
The 1960's really are chock full of fun prints on dresses, aren't they? This nostalgic print of the 19th century is like a collage of history right on the body. Like wearing art. It seems to be celebrating the invention of the bicycle too, notice that? *So cool* I will most surely be jealous of the winning bidder of this dress, whomever that LUCKY girl will be!

Novelty Print of the Day -- vintage 50's ALASKA, The 49th State Red Sun Dress

Alaskans, how's this for state pride?
This eye-popping red vintage 50's sun dress celebrates Alaska becoming the 49th state in the US of A. I can't get over those little igloos, just one tiny detail among many on this unique, surely one-of-a-kind patriotic print dress. My favorite part of the listing is where the seller states, "Please hold any Palin jokes." heehe.

Novelty Print of the Day -- vintage 70's GEISHAS in BLUE Caftan Dress

It's not everyday that I find a caftan dress that I like. This lovely geisha-filled frock is a rare exception. I love the intricate details on the print's design that make it appear to be a pen drawing made into a garment. Pretty, and guaranteed to be one of a kind. Love these novelty prints!

Novelty Print of the Day -- vintage 1960's WAYS TO SAY I LOVE YOU Maxi Dress

How do YOU say, "I love you?" This darling vintage maxi dress is a Gay Gibson design I've just come across, and I thought it deserved the spotlight today! I like the necklace the seller paired it with, and also think it would look cute with a skinny little belt. Word prints on clothes are a hoot, most especially when they are many different ways to say "I love you".

Novelty Print of the Day -- Vintage PSYCHEDELIC ROOSTER Colorful Belted Dress

I LOVE the feather details on this dress! The colors, too, are so lively and bright. The psychedelic rooster reminds me of illustrations in a children's story book. What a perfect print for fall. Imagine it under a cute fitted blazer and paired with dark-colored knee-high boots. Maybe a pretty long necklace around the neck as well? Oh wow, I'm actually feeling a tiny desire for Autumn weather all the sudden. Somebody slap me. ;)

Novelty Print of the Day -- vintage Kenzo JUMPING DEER Sweater Dress

I know you're probably thinking it's too early to feature a sweater dress, but why not be prepared for cool weather before it comes? Besides, this little dress is just as cute as bambi with that those little deer near the collar! It's a Kenzo design too. Snatch it up before someone else does. Oh, and to add the cherry on top of the sundae, Claire Inc is one of my very favorite ebay sellers, to boot. Be warned: a ton of amazing vintage pieces await your visit to that link!

If you're a Vested Gentress fan, then you can probably be able to tell immediately that this is a cute little item with their label attached. Yes indeed, the details fit the name: silly, playful, and usually with an animal or two as the star of the garment. In this case it's the happy YAK, and in pink to boot!
