Chloë Sevigny's Closet

One of my girl crushes. And a couple of my favorites from her collection for Open Ceremony.

Love that she kept the bunny ears from Gummo. She's so cute!

Wearing Le Petit Prince

"Goodbye," said the fox. "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

"What is essential is invisible to the eye," the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember.

-The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Designer JC de Castelbajac doesn't ever want us to forget about our childhood. I *love* these shirts he created for his SS 2011 line! I read the story The Little Prince when I was a girl, and shared it with my son when he was about 8. Castelbajac has very easily become one of my favorite designers ever, so don't be surprised if I am doing another post on him in the future!

Put a Bow on It

Sometimes a girl needn't look further than old vintage pics on etsy for some great fashion inspiration! I have such an adoration for bows, so I couldn't wait to share these! These photos came from the shops subversivefemme and vintageknitcrochet, and are actually pictures for knitting pattern advertisements from the past. Aren't they gorgeous creations? I imagined the pieces above without the bows and thought I likely wouldn't favor them as much as I do WITH them. My favorite are the first two sweater blouses, any knitters out there want to make me one like one of those? :)

Lu Flux

I know I have no right dreaming about spring time clothes right now. But I recently saw this cute little video and line for the London-based Lu Flux SS2011 collection and it made me wish (yes, already!) for warmer days. I'm torturing myself here, aren't I?!

P.s. Isn't that male model fun?

The video reminds me of the scene in Disney's Cinderella when the mice dress her up in her room! :)
I love that dress in the center with the house on it.*cute*

Fashion Hors d'oeuvres

Who knew there would be a time when I would be calling a line of accessories "deeelicious!". The following photos are the work of photographer Fulvio Bonavia. Aren't they fabulous?

I always get such a kick out of food as fashion. I'd love to sport that broccoli purse this season, and imagine telling someone your shoes were made out of eggplants!

Be sure to check out his site to see the noodle necklace, cauliflower cap, garlic boots and more.

Hungry yet? ;)

Autumn Velvet

I'm daydreaming about a fantasy wardrobe for Fall.
If given the chance,
I think I could wear velvet for the entire Autumn season.
I love the soft and luxurious fabric that is velvet.
It's nice to touch, nice to look at, and nice to wear,
especially when it comes in those dark deep colors.
These vintage pieces below just tug at my heart strings.
*tug *tug *tug.

I think velvet was MADE for the Autumn season.

Do you own a favorite velvet item?

Anna Miminoshvili

Stumbled upon these gorgeous photographs of designer Anna Miminoshvili's creations here, and it became obvious that I had to share them with you.

I wish to step into the dreamy, foggy landscape of these pics and stay there for a day or two.

Love the details of the dresses as well, they're so feminine. The first one reminds me of a princess strolling outside of her castle.

PC: here.

Cut me one of these, please?

There's definitely an art to paper cutting and folding.
But how 'bout paper wearing?

I know, probably not quite practical, but still, I love these photos.
Aren't they neat?

(photos via behance.net)

I'm a huge fan of the 1960's paper dresses too, but I've always wondered. . . how long did those actually last? One wear? I promised myself years ago that I would own one someday.
I'll let you know when that happens. :)

The Fascinating Erté

When you first get into fashion, or anything for that matter, when you realize you REALLY love it, something happens. Your brain starts thirsting to know more about every little thing regarding the subject and it's history.

I've wanted to do a little post for a while on Romain de Tirtoff, (1892 – 1990) also known as Erté. (the name comes from his initials pronounced in French, R.T.) He was a fashion illustrator, among many other impressive titles, and ever since I saw one of his illustrations years ago, I've been completely captivated by the artist and his work.

These images are ethereal. They're utterly DREAMY and imaginative. Additionally, the clothes the women are wearing in his illustrations are luxurious, theatrical, and elegant. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love the fashion in these drawings! Can you imagine having even just ONE of those outfits in your own closet?

Erté is definitely one of those artists I never tire of reading about/studying.
Hope you enjoy these enchanting images!

"Look at me, I'm in another world - a dream world that invites oblivion. People take drugs to achieve such freedom from their daily cares. I've never taken drugs. I've never needed them. I achieve a high through work." - Romain de Tirtoff

Recently found some gorgeous Erté SIGNED serigraphs from Sundookgalleries. These are obviously collectibles, you can tell from the prices!

What a talented man!
I want to live inside these pictures. :)
