1st EVER Blog Giveaway!

A bit over a month ago, on June 15, our little shop LoLa Vintage received an unbelievable amount of traffic fast. Not sure exactly where this was coming from, I wrote a tweet about it and was quickly informed by one of my twitter friends that the reason probably had something to do with the fact that one of our items was included in LUCKY MAGAZINE'S SUMMER MUST-HAVES on Etsy! I was ecstatic! That day we had a record number of hearts. :) Thank you to Lucky fashion editor, Jackie Nasser, for choosing our cute little leaf belt as a top pick!

LoLaVintage had been registered with Etsy in February of 2008. However, it wasn't until late February of 2009 that we started actually selling. I never thought that I would love Etsy so much! Sis and I were so glad to make the eBay to Etsy switch that we're still raving about Etsy, CONSTANTLY. :) In celebration of our shop's progress on Etsy I wanted to start doing a monthly blog giveaway, and I thought the first item was so fitting because it is very similar to the belt featured by Lucky Mag.

This pretty vintage metal leaf belt below is so boho chic! Skinny & stretchy with a metal leaf hook closure. This belt measures 32" total length and would fit a 28-34" waist nicely.

Here are the details of the blog giveaway: Leave a comment on this post about WHAT your own favorite accessory is and WHY, and a week from today {August 1st} the comments will be added up, and a winner will be chosen at random from random.org. Fun! :)

We're so excited about this blog giveaway, we are eager to do it at least once every month, and the day will always be a surprise! Can't wait to hear about your faves!

♥♥ Thank you, blog and twitter followers for your continued support. Happiness is doing what you love! ♥♥

Back To Black, 8 takes on the Little Black Dress {LBD}

I'm always seeking out the perfect little black dress. Don't they say there's one for every occasion?

Recently, I've found out about this amazing woman named Sheena Matheiken who has taken on her own charitable project regarding a little black dress. Ms. Matheiken has pledged to find 365 ways (yes, an an entire year!) to style a little black dress and money being raised from this endeavor will be used to support education for Indian children who wouldn't have otherwise been able to attend school. What a creative way to call to attention an important issue! THE UNIFORM PROJECT can be found here.

After finding out about this, I was almost tempted to challenge myself to try to style just one dress for a week! (hmm, maybe one of these days!) ;)

Here are 8 takes on the Little black dress currently in the shop. Which is your favorite?

Novelty Print of the Day!--Beautiful Butterflies Dress!

I know it's sort of cliche, but I'm such a huge fan of butterflies! One of these days I'm going to post things from around my apartment regarding this theme. ;) I recently found this absolutely adorable dress on Market Publique, currently available in their home store for $38! Deal alert!
I LOVE the bright green background, and the pink tie up straps with matching belt!

More novelty prints coming this week! M-F :)

Wednesday Wishlist -- Inspired by ROYGBIV

Remember growing up as a kid and being utterly amazed at the sight of a rainbow? The fascination has never left me. They still seem as rare to spot as they ever did, but when you finally do, during that special time in between rain and sunshine, it's still AWESOME, isn't it? Here are some of my favorite colorful finds by my fellow vintage Etsy sellers.

Novelty Print of the Day! -- Matador in Action 50's Dress!

Wow! RARE bull fighter print on this cotton sun dress for sale right now by Jantiques on Etsy. It looks like there are many different scenes of the matador's daring moves all around the dress. I've never seen anything like this before! Quite a steal for $48!

This dress very much reminds me of Madonna's very sexy video for her song, "Take a Bow" centered around a very handsome Matador. Yes, very handsome indeed! ;)

Countless Colors

I've been trying to make the shop a little more colorful, because I'm often very attracted to dark colors, especially black. I can't even count the number of little black dresses that I have yet to list, there are so many! But I'm falling in love with color this summer! Most of these blissfully bright items were added within the past few days, while others were added to the shop a while back. My favorite? The first picture! Backless Neon Green 80's sun dress. Bright is an understatement with this comfy beauty!

Color lovers, I'll try to keep looking for more items from the lighter spectrum of the rainbow to keep in the shop, if I'm ever lacking, let me know!
