Yoko's John

- In honor of John Lennon, who would have been 70 years old today-
Not only an amazing world famous musician, but also the beloved husband and muse of one woman, Yoko Ono. I've always been fond of this couple and the spark they seem to have had between each other.
This song in particular is such a thoughtful tribute from John to his wife. The 2 clips at the end of this post also illustrate their sweet connection. Enjoy, and Happy Saturday, dearies.

"I learned everything from her. ... It is a teacher-pupil relationship. That's what people don't understand. She's the teacher and I'm the pupil. I'm the famous one, the one who's supposed to know everything, but she's my teacher." -John Lennon

The newspaper said, "She's gone to his head,
They look just like two gurus in drag!

(I love their little game of "fortunately and unfortunately".)

Love Shack

Once there was a girl who loved a very sweet and creative man. The man started to rent a plain old apartment on the west side of town. Said he, "I shall take 1 month to make this place my own." So he worked and worked and worked and worked, and finally called it good. That evening he invited his love to view what was the finished space and so happy was she with the end result, that she decided to write a little blog post to show the man how proud she was of him. :)

I love this boy's aesthetic. All of those plants made me feel like I was in a botanical garden.

Oktoberbest

I bought this adorable little bustier about a year ago, and have tried to find a way to wear it ever since. Recently, I wanted to put together a cute outfit for going out to celebrate Oktoberfest. With no dirndl in my possession, I had to be creative! Thankfully, I really ended up liking the end result. I thought putting the little bustier on top of a girly puff sleeve blouse was a good idea. But what I was especially happy about was pairing the ruffled white petticoat under one of my favorite skirts. Makes for a happy twirling me. ;)

Entire outfit thrifted, except the boots, those were found on my dear Etsy.

Novelty Print of the Day -- 1960's KITTY CAT Mini Dress

It's been too long since I've done a novelty print post! Honestly, I've been working like a dog at my *real* job, and so my relationship to time has been quite different lately. Any of it that I can squeeze in to myself is quite a blessing these days. Just came upon this kitty cat print dress today. Quite adorable, with all of those signature sixties details: pointy collar, puffy sleeves, ultra mini length. CUTE as a button, er. . . a kitten! Meow!

The Better To Calm You With, My Dear

I must listen to this song about 75% of my mornings upon waking and having coffee or tea. There was a time before I knew the name of it when I was trying to find it online, going crazy because I'd heard it again somewhere and knew it was familiar to me. . . the strangest things. It was from a movie I watched when I was a little girl. I couldn't believe my mind remembered it.

It's my favorite of all classical pieces; incredibly beautiful and calming, and seems to go through such a range of emotions. I think it works wonders in the de-stressing area. Hope you enjoy, dears.

xoxo
