Burgundy loves Brown

Amusingly, this outfit started with just the hat, a cute little brown knit hat my sis just happened to leave at my house this weekend. I wanted to make an outfit revolving around it and this is what I came up with! I like the colors burgundy and brown together very much, and though there are a few different shades of brown here, I still thought it worked. It's got a bit of a 70's feel to it also. Not sure if it's apparent in the pics, but I did my makeup a little darker for this outfit. I'm just LOVING the makeup from the Marc Jacobs SS2011 collection. If you haven't seen it, I've just posted a closeup on my tumblr a day ago. The blackberry lipstick is so gosh darn pretty! XOXO

Happy Friday to all of you!

Verabel's Peacocks

VERABEL on Etsy has stolen my heart today with every single one of these vintage Peacock-inspired jewelry pieces. The stunning bright, rich colors of each piece are enough to to perk up any outfit. According to the listings, the peacocks are silk screened onto the vintage jewelry. Well done, Verabel. I'm in love. Be sure to view the rest of their shop for more brilliantly colorful necklaces, bracelets, lockets, and earrings.

Lacey Layering

I confess, I'm in the trial and error stage of layering endeavors, and I feel I have yet to learn how to accessorize too. But I must say, I was rather impressed with how this outfit turned out. The lace dress I've had for about 3 years and have maybe worn once. The heather gray dress is super warm and cute and I wear it ALL the time in the fall and winter. Put the two together and this is what happened. I was especially happy with the colors together. Experimenting is good for the girl who loves clothes! Guess you'll never learn if you like something or not until you try it. x

Foxy Lady

Being the crazy-for-novelty-prints girl that I am, I couldn't help gasping when I saw these fantastic dresses from the Fall 2011 Jill Stuart collection. Fox and owl prints? Yes, please. Love the shiny bright colors too.
