Miniachairs

I've been meaning to share these pics from when my son & I visited the Grand Rapids Public Museum during his spring break. Behold Chairmania! Seeing this exhibit made me want to be the size of Tinkerbell so I could try some of these seats out! Which one is your favorite? Can you spot Cherry from Peewee's Playhouse? Found myself wanting to invest in a doll house afterward too. How fun would it be to decorate a little doll house with tiny furniture like this? Am I too old for one? Probably. :p

Luminarium - Architects of Air

How happy I was when my friend told me about this wondrous attraction happening at the local summer festival in our town! Below is the Amococo Luminarium, a brilliantly lighted walk-through set of connected domes, semi-resembling a child's moonwalk structure on the outside, but without the bouncy bottom on the inside. It was, in a word, MAGICAL!

I LOVE surprising Lukas with neat little outings like this, and I think this particular one tops almost all of our little adventures in the past year!



The outside of the structure reminded me of a cartoon. I completely felt like an overly excited child when we were waiting nearly 2 hours in line to get in!





Just before entering. We were both so eager to see what this Luminarium hype was all about!



There was peaceful music playing in the background, and I kept thinking of how awesome it would be to be completely alone inside with nothing but the quiet and light.



My friends enjoyed the experience so much too! I preferred the red light, to me it was the most calming.

Lukas kept saying he felt like a little worm in his holey worm home underground. I'm so happy he loved it! :)

Check out the website because apparently the structure is touring now and definitely explore the dome if it comes to your area! It was totally worth the 2 hour line wait! Here's a little video if you want to learn a little bit more about the wonder that is the luminarium.

The Tulips Came Early This Year

Yeah, I know, can you believe it? ;)

No school yesterday due to Snowtorious BIG (my favorite of the snowstorm nicknames) meant I had to think fast before cabin fever overcame us with sadness and boredom. After promising hot chocolate for when we came back in, I finally convinced my son Lukas we needed to go out and play in all of that cold white stuff! It was fun. And just like I suspected, after all of that initial whining of "It's too cold out there, Mom!", he didn't even want to come back in when it was time. Silly child o' mine!

Looking about 5 times his normal size while making snow angels. He laughed when he saw this picture.

I got this adorable raccoon hat for Christmas from my boyfriend's dad. Isn't it cute? And how 'bout that 1980s down ski jacket? (thrifted) Both incredibly warm! :)

Oh, and the tulips are from my sweet man who brought them to me last week. I thought they deserved to be photographed before they wilted.
