ZooStew on Etsy currently has this gorgeous scenic print 70's top available for sale. I love the colorful pattern of dots, and the sailboats and beach houses too. The flying seagulls are my favorite thing about this vintage shirt, though.

Red, White & Black :: Today's Outfit.

You're looking at one of my favorite skirts, 80's B/W houndstooth pencil skirt.
I love pencil shaped skirts so much, and find them very figure flattering.
Paired it with a v-neck red 70's top, and a black bow belt that actually belongs to Deargolden since I promised it to her months ago! (I've got to get that to you already!)
Had to show off the shoes too because I'm just head over heels about bows.
The red purse may be a little too much, though.
What do you think?

**All items thrifted, except the purse, which my friend gave me...but wait, she probably thrifted that.** :)

I love the slit in the back of the skirt. Sexy, but not too much. ;) Just the way I like it.

Romantic Femininity, a Post of the Pretties.

Some of us have an affinity for sensuality in our dressing. I'm definitely one of those kind of women. These 9 dresses are some of my favorite items from the shop because they embrace femininity in design and shape that are so romantic to me.

Do you ever just revel in the simplest of details such as these?

Beaded Empire Waist.

Polka Dots on Satin.

Falling Glitter.

Lace.

Soft color with Rhinestones.

Silver Sequins.

Swirled Glitter.

Novelty Print of the Day -- Cranes in the Moonlight 70's Top

I've fallen in love with Planet Claire Vintage on Etsy by accident. I always come across an item I love and when I look to see who is selling it, it happens on more occasions than I can count that the item is from seller planetclairevintage. This top is one of those items, isn't it so pretty? I'm a great fan of birds in general, so this CRANES in the MOONLIGHT print caught my eye immediately.

20 years of Edie Brickell

After recently reading my friend Kerri's latest post about her love for music, I was inspired to share one of my own favorite singers.

The beautiful Edie Brickell.

I can't believe it's been TWENTY years that I've been listening to this amazing and talented woman. It was 1989 when my older brother (a high schooler at the time) introduced young 5th-grader me to her music.

It would be way too hard to pick a favorite album of Edie's because I seriously love each and every one of them.

Not only is she poetic, but her songs are meaningful and most of the time tell of some heartfelt, moving story. A few of her songs are so incredibly dear to me that I would honestly say they have been almost healing to my life.

This one is called Once in a Blue Moon. We've all felt this way about one person at some time in our lives. :)

Here are a few more songs I found on Youtube, really just for listening, as most of these don't include the original videos. Enjoy!

1.Green Everything about this song reminds me of my childhood, and how easy it is to believe, when you're that young, the illusion that the grass is always greener on the other side. . .
2.Stay Awhile Very romantic song, one of my faves!
3.Me by the Sea Beautiful song about being alone and loneliness.
4.Circle This song never fails to make me cry, reminds me of friends from college so much.
5. Little Miss S A sad tale of a famous young woman's life ruined by drugs.
6. Lost in the Moment A tragedy from many different perspectives. A bit of a tearjerker.
7. Good Times One of the best FEEL GOOD songs I've ever heard. (includes original video)

I hope you find an appreciation for this lovely music as much as I have.
If you haven't already, check out Edie's WEBSITE, where you'll find two more songs, I Get Mean and Stories We Tell Ourselves. You'll love the adorable video footage of both!

Are you SUITable for these sets?

I'm a big fan of the SKIRT SUIT, especially the feminine, fitted version. Pair with a belt and matching heels and you're ready to conquer a day at the office, while toting that large coffee around in one hand, anyway. ;)

Here are three skirt suits in the shop right now and I think they're lovely. I'm shopping this weekend and will be on the lookout for more pretty vintage skirt sets, so stay tuned.

Wishing you, yes YOU a great weekend. ;) xo

Pink & black tweed, a favorite color combination.
Mod 2 toned, "power suit".

Raspberry deluxe.

Last day for my favorite Summer LBD.

Looking at weather.com, I realize temps are going to be inching their way toward the 60's next week. This will likely be the last week I get to wear this, my favorite little black dress of the summer. I love the open knit yoke on the bodice, and of course the mini length. You can't tell by the pics, but the solid black part of the dress is made of a cotton blend plisse fabric, so it's so comfortable and lightweight too.

The shoes below I fell in love with earlier this spring. They've certainly seen their share of sidewalk this summer! Aren't they so cute & mod? Both items (shoes & dress) were thrifted, and the belt was given to me by a friend.

I miss posting outfits and hope to do so more often when temps give me no other choice but to be inside. ;)
