Should Old Dresses be Forgot?

1950's pale blue formal dress

My answer is no.

The new year of 2010 has me going through a ton of old things and tossing out what I don't need.

One of those things is my hard drive. Years of pictures need to be sifted through and deleted . . . many of dresses that I've loved and sold. I can't bring myself to delete some of these pics, though!

It made me think of how many years I've actually been selling vintage online, and this year in March it will be 7 years! I can't believe it. Still love it even after all this time. :)

Here are a few unforgettable favorites that have passed through my hands and gone to happy new owners.

1930's Bias cut dress
Beaded Silk dress, loved the fit of this beauty.
The Calla Lily Dress, it was sheer, belted, and pleated. Perfect.
Oh, how I loved this little polka dotted dress with the ruffled bodice and collar.
1950's huge skirt bow dress.
Always a fan of metallics, this strapless 80's number was so fun to dress up in!

All of these pictures started getting me to wonder. . . what makes a woman fall in love with a dress? hmmm. . .

Strapless, gathered & ruffled 80's sundress. The color on this one I really loved!
Always a sucker for the sailor dress. ALWAYS.
How could I NOT have fallen in love with this little 60's Pink number? ADORABLE.
Red & black & Bubble skirt. ♥
White Stripes curve hugging dress.

I guess it depends on the woman! Here are a couple of answers I liked from my twitter friends, though.

@OneinAmelia "There is lust and love. Love is the dress you pull out of the closet for every occasion and never goes out of style."

@misscristalcom "I can't speak for everyone, in my case I fall in love with a dress that says 'here I am, I'm different, look at me!!'"

What makes YOU fall in love with a dress? Have you lately? I can't wait to see what dresses I will "meet" this year! **EXCITING!**

It's so nice and cozy to be back home and back to my little blog and shop. Looking forward to posting an update soon, so stay tuned, lovelies!

  5. I think it is the little details that makes you truly fall in love. A unique print, a strategically placed bow, that perfect fit that makes your waist look awesome.
    Great post.
