Because LAUGHING makes me feel better

I've been sick for the past few days and usually get very down when I don't feel well. . . so I was desperately seeking a little pick me up and while online today found these two funny videos on YouTube by CrappyHolidays featuring two gals from Whip-it! Ellen Page & Alia Shawkat.

Both of these tiny movie shorts made me laugh out loud, so I hope you enjoy. :)

My former classmates & I used to make movie shorts in our digital video classes years ago. I miss it soooo much sometimes, and hope I find the time to be involved again someday.

Something else that nearly had me in tears today from laughing so hard was a story I remembered from my childhood after my son accidentally got soap in his eyes in the bath. It's actually quite EMBARRASSING and I'm a bit hesitant to share, but it is funny, and I think we all have embarrassing stories, don't we? ;) When I was a little girl I felt the need to TEST the claims of Johnson & Johnson No More Tears shampoo. I remember being around 8 or 9 and having this secret "scientific mission" to see if what the company was saying on the commercials was actually true. I snuck the bottle of shampoo to my room and carefully put some of the shampoo directly into my eyes to see if, in fact, the shampoo was really that gentle. (Ridiculous, I know). Anyway, it STUNG just like any other shampoo would and after running to the bathroom I was frantically trying to wash it out before my mom found out what I had done. Hahahah!

It might not surprise you then, that I was voted "Most Gullible" in my high school senior year mock elections. ;)

P.s. I still love No More Tears and believe that it DOES work, but not when one puts it directly into the eye, unmixed with water. Lol. (Childhood lesson about concentrated liquids)

Share your embarrassing stories, please. I would love to hear your silliness!

Have a marvelous week, everyone!

Novelty Print of the Day -- BUDWEISER Beer Lovers 80's Mini Dress!

What an attention getter! This beer lovers mini dress from Pretty Pease Vintage on Ebay is a hit if you or your sweetheart prefer Budweiser! I used to have a similar dress, but it sold years ago. I would suggest not wearing this to the bar, though, because you might get mauled!

DARK NIGHTS. Shop Update.

Black is simple, sexy, and not fussy. I love this color and truth be told, if you asked my friends they would probably tell you that I wear it too much.
From elegant to disco, to draped & studded, here are a few dark items from the shop to paint the town red in. ;)

Novelty Print of the Day -- HOT AIR BALLOONS 1950's Full Skirt!

I've longed to ride in a hot air balloon since I've been a little girl! Have you ever done it before? Admittedly, I'm afraid of heights, but near where I live there is a yearly hot air balloon festival, and I am slowly gaining the courage to finally live out a long time dream. :) This amazing 1950's AIR BALLOON skirt comes to you from one of my favorite ebay sellers, Violetville Vintage. Isn't it the coolest? I'm loving the fall toned colors too!

Teeny Tiny COMBINED Update.

I miss you, my blog and twitter friends! I also miss posting (and especially seeking) my favorite novelty prints. I'm quite sorry I've been MIA this week. I've been working a ton and have also been a little stressed out because I have three weddings to attend this month! The good news is that one was held this past weekend and so I only have TWO more to go.

I wanted to post what I wore to the first wedding because I LOVE this skirt so so so much and was never able to post it this summer. Isn't it beautiful? I found it on ebay years ago. It's one of those things that I could never ever sell.

This is just a pic of a boy I met that night. Thought he was absolutely adorable and in this picture I was giving him fashion advice. heehe. I told him to turn his coat around so he could show the red plaid on the other side. Afterward, he received a few compliments on his plaid coat. :) (totally made my night.)

I hope to be back into somewhat of a normal schedule next week, but also wanted to share my current favorite item in the shop.

These adorable SAILOR JEANS! If they fit me, I'd be keeping them, but they're just a tad too big. Aren't they so cute, though?

Last but not least, WHIP-IT comes out TONIGHT, ladies and gents! You'll see me in this movie, but you gotta pay attention, it's pretty fast!
It's a super cute movie and I hope you enjoy it. It was an honor being Ellen Page's stand in last summer during filming, and being a hot tamale too. ;) Click here to see more of my pics from the set!

Also, I thought I might take this time to say that being in that movie made me realize how much attention the celebrities get and how little attention everyone behind the scenes actually gets. So these photos are in celebration of THOSE PEOPLE, and here are some of my favorites. :)

Barbara, hair stylist

Stephanie, make-up

Amy, Props

Gordon, set painter. Love this sweet man!

Stephen, locations manager, and one of my favorite people on the set!

Phil, (with glasses) locations assistant, and 2 other assistants

Hardworking cast & crew, moments after last Michigan scene, Sept 13, 2008

Francesca & Erin, Detroit Stand-ins for Marcia Gay Harden & Alia Shawkat

Autumn, Gracie, Gerard, Birch Run stand-ins

Production assistants, Darrel & Adam

Just thought these dedicated people deserved to have some attention too. What an amazing experience it was watching all of them work together to create what ends up being an hour and a half movie for our entertainment!

A fantastic weekend to all of you!
xoxo
