 I don't usually consider myself a jewelry girl, but I find myself captivated by these lovely crocheted jewelry pieces that are like little colorful secrets wrapped up in lace-like metallic nests. Tel-Aviv based artist Julia Berg is the woman responsible for the creation of these beauties. I feel as if my eyes are tricking me because of how much the crocheted chain resembles crocheted detail on a metallic dress!

I love those bright flowery hair pieces & bold lipstick hues! The first creation with the bird below is my absolute favorite. Major WANT.

My Brother's Etsy Shop!

I started selling on Etsy in February of 2009. At the time I was raving to my family and friends about how much I loved the site. I had been selling on Ebay for quite a few years before finding Etsy, but knew the change was inevitable once I started seeing the benefits of switching.

Around that time, my brother Mark started taking an interest in what I was doing. Keep in mind my brother has always been amazing at decorating his apartment in some of the cutest vintage housewares -- so much so that for a few years now we've called him "Marky Stewart". He started becoming very curious about having an online business for himself because he'd been working for a company that he disliked, and believe me, I ALWAYS got to hear about it. It was around 4 months after one of these conversations that my brother finally decided to start his own lil' Etsy shop with his partner Jeff. The name of their shop came from two adorable new marmalade kittens they had just adopted at the time named Boots and Gus.

BootsnGus now has over 16,000 admirers on Etsy, have been in the Etsy finds more times than I can count, and have also been featured in 2 magazines; Natural Home and Garden and more recently Better Homes & Gardens online. Congrats, my boys! I really love how these two work together as a team on their shop, it's very inspiring to me! Kinda makes me wish I had a business partner at times...

While my brother still maintains the stocking up / interest in the vintage housewares and now vintage books and records (he has so many great ones in his possession not yet listed!) it is JEFF who is responsible for the popular light fixture creations. One thing I greatly admire about Jeff is that he never ever puts a limit on his imagination. He's really made me appreciate the idea of upcycling so much more than I ever have in the past.

Consistenly inspired by their 4 adorable cats, Bootsngus has certainly made a permanent home on Etsy. I'm really proud of these two for taking a risk and starting their own business! As busy as they've been with so much online exposure and many sales, they haven't regretted one day of working for themselves! Cheers, guys!

Aren't these pieces of jewelry GORGEOUS? I came upon them recently during my early Sunday morning guilt-free stumbling time. Would you believe me if I told you they're made from recycled PET plastic bottles? I could hardly believe it either. I LOVE the bright, transparent colors, and detailed delicate looking petals.

The woman who makes them, GULNUR OZDAGLAR GUVENC, also happens to be an Etsy shop owner. Along with lovely jewelry,  she creates the coolest looking bowls, and unique buttons as well. So happy I came upon this shop because I was wondering what to get for my mom for Mother's Day!

Verabel's Peacocks

VERABEL on Etsy has stolen my heart today with every single one of these vintage Peacock-inspired jewelry pieces. The stunning bright, rich colors of each piece are enough to to perk up any outfit. According to the listings, the peacocks are silk screened onto the vintage jewelry. Well done, Verabel. I'm in love. The Cutest Mittens Ever Made!

Just fell in love with an Etsy shop this morning after seeing these.
I don't think I've ever seen mittens this cute in my life! They're made by Tiny Toad Stool on Etsy, and her shop is kind of a must see. Besides these adorable handmade hand-warming wool mittens, you'll also see some cute hats and  scarves mixed in with her creations. Wait until you see the detailed work on the berets. A M A Z I N G, and so worthy of sharing with you, my dear blog readers.

Etsy Shop Crush : Textile Art by Laura Amiss

I'm a girl who loves clothes, and for a long time the extent of my mindset concerning fabric was that it was primarily something that made up the many items hanging in my closet. That is, until one day a few years ago when one of my college professors introduced me to the magic of textile art by handing me a few of her old Fiberarts magazines. Right there I was hooked on this new way of looking at cloth! I was delighted to come upon a textile artist in the Etsy finds this week whose work I instantly adored. How creative and charming these touchable and bright canvases are! Of course, you know I do really love how the theme flirts with fashion too. :) Aren't they pretty?
