Happy Halloween! Love, Lola

I hope all of you have a safely SPOOKY and fun Halloween this weekend! This is one of my favorite holidays. Etsy & twitter friends, remember to share your pics, please. I want to see you all dressed up, and some of you promised! :)

I threw my costume together in about 5 minutes! I think I have been listening to this song a little too much lately. ;) I decided I was a stray cat from the 60's. haha! I love my sister's colorful makeup, isn't it pretty?

Fun people and fun get ups!

This weekend is full of dancing and costume parties, my fave!
Until next time! xoxo

Going to Great Lengths

It's true, some vintage maxi dresses are even cuter when they're altered into minis. Some dresses, however, are just MEANT to be long, because it's part of their charm. Here are some of the shop's best looks when it comes to going to great lengths.

Novelty Print of the Day -- WILD HORSES Vintage Wrap Dress

My family has always had horses for as long as I can remember. They've always served more as part of our country landscape than for riding. There have been countless hours I've enjoyed spending time with these beautiful animals. Horse lovers, ever notice how their spirit is a little contagious? I fell in love with this dress instantly because I think the print depicts that essence perfectly. For sale on Etsy from swaneegrace.

Two versions of "Wild Horses" that I absolutely ♥ love.♥

Wednesday Wishlist :: LABEL LOVE // Wondrous Wenjilli

About 6 years ago, when I first started selling vintage clothing online via Ebay I found this AMAZING dress that I have regretted selling ever since. It was dark brown metallic knit, long, and form fitting. It also had this tiny peek-a-boo crocheted area on the bodice that I thought was especially lovely. I made it a point at the time to remember the label WENJILLI because I loved the dress so much! Yes, that dress was unforgettable and as a matter of fact ended up being one of my best sales on Ebay. Recently, I was wishing I had a picture to show you guys, when I thought, "OF COURSE! I bet I'll find one on Etsy!" :)

I would love to know more about the background and history of the label Wenjilli, but the only thing I've really found out through researching online is that these dresses were made in Hong Kong in the 1970's.

Aren't they just gorgeous?

I love the copper color & cowl neck on this one from seller

The Classy Side:: Tuesday Shop Update

My style is constantly evolving, as it often tends to do for most people. However, I've realized there seems to be a consistent love of looks bordering between the good girl and bad girl sides of me. One side of this equation is the desire to be ladylike, classy, and feminine. Sometimes there's nothing like waking up and putting on a 50's day dress, complete with cap sleeves & full pleated skirt to instantly provide that feeling. :) These items from the shop best illustrate what I'm trying to explain. . .

Tomorrow, let's discuss the badass side, because that's always fun too. hahah. ;)

Novelty Print of the Day -- Pink Flamingos Vintage Kelly Green Skirt

Graceful pink flamingos wade in the grass on this super CUTE vintage skirt by *appleblossom* on Ebay. I love the bold contrast of the two colors pink & green, and who doesn't love birds?

We're After the Same Rainbow's End. . .

In light of twitter's Music Monday, I am inspired today to extend the "listen to this" spirit to my dear blogger friends. Moon River has been one of my very favorite songs since I can remember. The lyrics are so touching that I honestly get the chills whenever I hear this song, no matter who is singing it. It's one of those songs that might even make you cry sometimes because it's so beautiful. The Karen Peris version does this to me, but then again, most of her lovely songs do. :)

Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's

The angelic voice of Karen Peris, lead singer in The Innocence Mission.

Good ole' Frank Sinatra. Smooth and beautiful.

How about you, what song gives you the chills?

Sweaters & Skirts, Monday Shop Update

Pretty sweaters & skirts in the shop right now. The perfect mix of warm & cute. I love the angora sweaters, so fuzzy and super soft.
