Satin, Velvet, and Charms

I may have always been crazy about the satin and velvet combination, but this ad from last fall's Chloe line definitely helped. When I first bought these high waist deep blue velvet pants, (about 4 years ago) I honestly had a little bit of trouble filling them out, but never ever could I bring myself to sell them. No ill-fitting worries now, thankfully. I guess there is something good about a slower metabolism that comes with age. ;)

Thought the dark pants went really well with the light bronze satin blouse I thrifted recently.

This charm belt was a gift from a male friend who thought it looked like "Jessica's style." I've only worn it a couple times and am liking it more and more every time. Hearts, stars, moons, and keys? Yeah, very Jessica style, indeed. :)

Do you have a favorite satin & velvet outfit in your wardrobe? I think I'll keep playing with these two fabrics for fall. I LOVE the fluidity of the satin, and the sheen of both the pants and blouse is so pretty. The best part? When my favorite man told me he rates this outfit "irresistible to the touch", I knew that was enough to make me want to wear it again. Nothing like flattery from a sweetheart to make a woman feel that way!

Happy Friday, lovelies!
xoxo

October Colors

The next shop update, happening throughout this week will consist of these items and a few other pretties. I really love the colors here for fall. That delicate white blouse will be the oldest thing I've ever listed in the shop. I recently bought it at an antique store and the owner told me it was from the late 1800's/early 1900's. It's still in amazing condition. I find the romantic Victorian era enchanting - definitely fashion-related on one hand with all of the puff sleeves and high necks, but also because of the literature of the time too. I love the sound of the writing, and have yet to immerse myself in more of it this fall and winter. (Thank goodness for the cozy months.)

Oh, and lately any time I see a rust colored suede piece of clothing, I snatch it up for the shop! It's such a gorgeous color, isn't it?

The Spiderman is Always Hungry

I thought this song was perfect for a music Monday post in October, especially with Halloween coming right up this weekend. When I was in high school, I had a bit of an obsession with Robert Smith of the Cure. (My first crush on a boy in makeup) And though my high school phase of black lipstick and nail polish is over, my fascination with the macabre is very much still alive and well. ;) I love this creepy video!

Still don't know what I'm going to dress up as this weekend, what are you going to be?
