Film Festival, 50 years!

Of the few nights that I make it a point to go out during the year, opening night of the film festival makes the top of the list! This was a pretty special year because it marked the festival's 50th anniversary. Dressing up is a must for the first night, and you better believe it's one of my favorite parts of the celebration! There's also an amazing spread of hors d'oeuvres and what seems to be an endless well of flowing champagne. Of course I took advantage of these things. ;) I wanted to snap many photos of the marvelous outfits of the night, but time was limited, and I was lucky enough that my friend was able to snap one of the beaded 1920's dress I'd been holding onto for the evening. (sorry so grainy, it was taken on instagram). Sooo many compliments on that dress! I was utterly delighted to talk vintage with other fashion lovin' gals there!

I'm not a film maker by any means, but I did have digital video classes some years ago and enjoyed making little movies a great deal. I would LOVE to get back into it one day, when time allows. (we'll see!)

My favorite film of all was Irma, you can read about it here. It ended up getting an award too!

The place was packed!

My dress!

Does your town/city have a film festival? Do you go? I wanna hear about it! The best one I've ever been to was the Montreal World Film Fest, can't wait to go back one day!

  3. This looks like so much fun! And your dress is perfect--dramatic and elegant. Um...I probably should know if GRR has a film festival...I don't think so. I know there's a lakeshore one, but I've never been.
